The challenge
A fast-growing fintech app was releasing weekly, but localization had become the bottleneck. Strings were handed off in spreadsheets, context was missing, and every locale needed a manual round-trip before release. Growth into new markets was stalling because the process couldn't keep up with the product.
What we did
We replaced the spreadsheet handoff with a continuous localization pipeline connected directly to the team's repository. New and changed strings flowed to in-country linguists automatically, with screenshots and developer notes for context.
- Repo and CMS connectors for automated string sync
- A shared termbase to keep financial terminology consistent
- In-context QA and pseudo-localization to catch layout issues before release
- A single accountable program manager across all 12 locales
The outcome
Localization stopped being a release blocker. Strings turned around fast enough to keep pace with weekly shipping, terminology stayed consistent across the product, and the team expanded into new markets without adding internal headcount.
